AUGUSTA — Sen. Mark W. Lawrence, D-Eliot, earned a perfect score from the Maine Women’s Lobby for votes during the second session of the 132nd Legislature.
“Throughout my time in Augusta, I’ve stood up whenever the rights and autonomy of women and girls have been under attack. As a proud husband and father to two daughters, these issues aren’t political – they’re personal,” said Sen. Lawrence. “I’m honored to receive this recognition, and I trust that my colleagues will continue to protect these rights in the Senate.”
Sen. Lawrence, throughout his eleven nonconsecutive terms in the Legislature, has been an outspoken advocate for women’s rights and health. In the second regular session of the 132nd Maine Legislature, Sen. Lawrence voted in support of measures to rein in economic inequality, safeguard access to reproductive care and bolster access to justice for victims of gender-based crimes.

Sen. Mark Lawrence is serving his eleventh and final nonconsecutive term in the Maine Senate, where he serves as the Senate chair of the Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee. Sen. Lawrence represents Senate District 35, which includes the towns of Eliot, Kittery, Ogunquit, South Berwick and York.
